Its nearly time to go to ogg camp, just been planning the trip with the other folks that are going with me, the hotel is booked and all the tickets, all that remains is for us to actually go!
With shopping to do on the friday, a geeknic (and oggcamp talks) on saturday and sunday we're all really excited!
Hopefully ill be able to write more about whats going on at OggCamp while im there so you guys can keep up to speed.
Well ive been back here for few days now and with oggcamp fading into the past its nearly time to start my degree year.
Looking back at oggcamp though a few things stand out and its interesting to look back on some of the things and people i saw there. One of the most prominent things that sticks out in my mind is arduino powered 3D printer, which i think is just amazing, the whole concept of being able to create a 3D model and then have a machine create it for you out of plastic is simply amazing.
I also found the talk by Simon Phipps particularly engaging regarding software freedom - its certainly an interesting notion that whilst software freedom is a good thing and a thing to be advocated at all costs, its also important to make sure you arent inconveniencing yourself - in other words, if you find yourself trying to write letters in vim simply because its free software then you're doing something wrong.
